    2nd A/C for the bedroom. 30 amp 2600rl.

So I was thinking since an additional A/C can be hard to set up in a 30 amp rig. Why couldn't I have a 2nd A/C that works only when the other A/C is off. Couldn't you run your main A/C during the day and at night when you go to bed you just switch that one off and turn on the smaller/less power other in your bedroom. I don't dry camp so it would be used with shore power.

This way you could have the best of both worlds. Cool camper during the day (with the main unit) and sleep well at night with the smaller A/C on with out having to worry about setting up some type of 50 amp electrical system. The question is could you have both working off the same fuse but only ONE would be on at a time. What do you think?

You can do that. If you add a breaker to the panel, you can probably run both ACs at the same time with nothing else on but the converter, even on 30A service. Handy to cool down the trailer on a hot day. You can also wire a separate shore power feed for the second AC. A heavy extension cord to the 20A outlet or via an adapter to the 50A outlet will run the AC. Plenty of creative options.

I think having one of those soft starts on the A/Cs would also allow you to possibly run both. Usually the initial start of the A/C is the large current draw. I feel like I remember a few members on here running 2 A/Cs on a 30A connection.

The hard part will be running the wires to the A/C if it isnt pre-wired for the 2nd one.

Not in 30 amp rigs. Pre wire only in 50 amp units.
