Extended Warranties
Our warranty on our 303RLS will lapse this coming February. I have never been one to buy extended warranties, just never thot they were worth the cost. However I could be wrong.
Just kind of a survey to see who has purchased an extended warranty or who is going to purchase one and the approximate cost. As well opinions from others on if you think one is justified are welcome.

Boy, are you opening up a "can of worms". I know I've seen some threads already on this subject. You might want to do a search. As for me, I too have never been a big fan of extended warranties. But I just purchased my 380TH last month and decided to go with one. There are just so many "high-dollar" items on this baby (happi-jac, generator, etc ...). I purchased the warranty with the full knowledge that I was really buying an insurance policy and may never see a penny of it. But at my age with retirement around the corner, it was more of a "devil you know" kind of thing.

I'm the same, I hate purchasing the extended warranties on anything. But we did purchase the extra warranty on our reflection. I just retired, and don't want to worry to much about additional expenses should something costly happen. The policy we have, if you don't use the extended warranty, we get a portion of it back then. It's really a personal and financial decision.

I NEVER buy an extended warranty on anything. Well, you know what they say "never say never". Yep, I bought the extended warranty on my reflection, mainly because they offered a 6 year deal for the cost of a new refrigerator.

We purchased an extended warranty as Mr Zss stated its more on an insurance policy.
My risk assessment is based on what and who you are buying from. The Toyota no, the Chevy Truck Yes, the Reflection yes.
Im more than a little iffy on the Atwood HE refrigerator the warranty was less than a new frig.
The cost was .03% of the total price.

Same with me. Not an extended warranty fan, but as this was our first RV and we were buying from a newer company, it seemed prudent to get 7 years of coverage.

Rich - which vendor gives you the refund?
I'm looking at wholesale warranty, great reviews about them but don't like the fact that I'd be paying for coverage for equipment our 303 doesn't have.
Thx

I generally won't spend the money on one. There is nothing I can't repair in our RV. If an AC goes out, I'll buy a new one and install it myself. If the fridge goes out, I can usually repair it or purchase a new one and install it. I typically own an RV for 5-6 years before I trade for a new one. It's unlikely that all of the expensive stuff would wear out in that time frame.
However, since GD was very new when we bought our Reflection in 2014, and they used some little know components like Atwood, we decided to purchase the warranty. We've owned the rig for 18 months now, and haven't used the warranty yet. All the repairs we initially had done were under the GD warranty.

I didn't go with the warranty as I thought it was too high from the dealer. I had it on the motor home without ever using it, but that is not the reason I went without. I don't move the rig much, more of a mobile apartment. Like stated above, most items one can replace with new for a reasonable cost. Trading in 4 to 5 years and pretty much everything should make it. Well probably not the Furrion entertainment system. ☺
