I also have the valterra. Not only does it solve the issue in this thread it allows tank equalization for those with multiple gray tanks.

One would think that GD would change the plumbing to avoid that as it creates quite the bio hazard when you pull that cap off and human waste pours out.
We have the Valterra extra valve attached because our kitchen grey tank valve doesn't shut all the way. No problem with the black tank.

The extra valve save us from all sorts of nasty possibilities.

My 2020 29RS does the same thing. It is interesting because I dump the grey last to clean out the hose, as I'm sure many of you do. So why is waste water standing in the pipe?

They were listed as out of stock for several months this summer. I'm glad to see they are back in stock.

Only one with bayonets that i have seen. I did read that you could get just the valve and add the bayonets.

Our 303 does the same thing. We always empty the grey water last and then put a bucket under when we open it to hook up. Dump the bucket in the sewer before hookup. Usually no more than a quart of grey water. Never experienced any black water, but our plumbing design may be different from yours. We were going to attached the Valterra valve, but its bulky and the bucket works great. Still have the valve and maybe we will do it someday.

I have a 2021 2600RB that has done this twice. Both times there was about 1/2 gallon in the tube.

Very poor design, if this is that common.

If you have 2 grey water tanks putting on the valve could turn your 2 grey water tanks into 1. If you leave the valterra valve and black water valve closed but the 2 grey tank valves open they will equalize making them 1 tank. I don't know about you but we will fill one grey tank way before the other one. Turning them into one tank allows you to go a lot longer before you have to empty them.
