Yes, there have been enough of these reports over the years causing us to inspect the front area very closely when opening and closing. With the below floor slides, we open one slide (usually the dining table) just a bit to slip by the center island and check all cabinets and anything else that may be an obstruction in the rear for both slides when they move. Doing this also allows me to check the swipe seals to ensure they are swiping out when the slide moves out and the reverse when coming in.
Not only have many cabinet doors and slide trim pieces become victims, but there have been reports of garbage pails, Kleenex boxes, magazines/books, dog/kid toys, pillows, and much more that have moved around while traveling........at times far from where they were causing damage.
It's amazing what can show up after missing for months just when you do not want it or expect it too !

My wife and I are new to the GD group and heck we're new to the whole RV world as well. I've only had my 28mks for about 2 months and I've already closed the slide on the fridge door LOL. I think it's probably a whole lot more common than many want to admit.

I've had a couple of very minor slide movement crashes and now what I do is this. When opening my slides, I do it from my phone app so that I can stand outside and see the movement and make sure there is nothing in the way of the slide movement. When bringing the slides in, first, I have a note hanging by the slide switch that reminds me to check a couple of things that could cause a slide accidently contacting something inside...and secondly, I make sure I'm IN the camper at the slide switch so I can watch them coming in. I had to install a new door handle on a pantry door this past summer because the latch part of it failed and I didn't notice that the door was slightly ajar, just enough to catch the slide coming in. Now, the door not only has a new handle, it has a secondary latch that is on my checklist before moving the slide. It's always something it seems.

I did it, I did it !!
Caught the draw in the front entertainment center.
Didn't destroy it, but bent the rails.
What slides do I need to replace ?
