We stopped for lunch & my wife opened the slide and didn't
notice this door was opened when she brought the slide back in.
It made a terribly loud cracking noise.

Oops, slide 1 door 0. Simple mistake. Can easily happen to anyone and it has many times.

Don't feel too bad, I have had many slide crush situations.
    1. Glass in the bathroom bounced into kitchen, pulled the trim off the slide.
    2. Drawer open, kitchen slide, broke handle.
    3. Laptop slid out of slot, got caught in LR slide, new laptop.
    4. Broom came out of clip and fell down, broom dent in side of slide.
    5. Drawer bounced open in LR, had to take the drawer out and rebuild it.
    6. Book cabinet bounced open, slide was pooping books out then got stuck, fortunately they were paperbacks books.

While I always try to check for obstructions I don't always catch them.

At least a replacement door can be purchased relatively inexpensively!

Looks like a clean break - some duct tape should fix it.

I have been there too - also check the outside while closing - caught a tree branch once.

Our Reflection 28bh has a drawer in the step to the bunkroom. When the main slide is in, you can't see this particular drawer because it's hidden. Problem is, if you put anything in there with weight, the door will tend to pop open during transit. This happened to us. So not knowing the drawer was open, opening the slide crushed the drawer and bent the drawer guides.

I need to rebuild the drawer and install new guides. Then I need to fabricate some sort of lock so that this drawer doesn't come open again.

I actually added two magnetic catches and they still weren't strong enough! This time I'm not taking any chances. I'm installing a gate lock with a rotating locking mechanism so there's no way this thing is going to pop open again ever lol.

I mean the latches that are actually mechanical and lock/unlock with a rare earth magnet. Just 1 of those held the pantry door on our prior camper with 4 slide drawers that were 28" deep full of dry goods!
