Question Very basic onboard generator question

This is really basic, but I have tried google searching, consulting the owners manual, and even searching these forums for my answer without success. Does the onboard Onan generator that comes factory installed on the Momentum 25G travel trailer toy hauler charge the auxiliary battery when running? I was just curious if we would be able to charge the battery when not connected to shore power without running the truck or installing solar.

The generator does NOT charge the battery directly. The Genny powers the onboard converter, which requires 120VAC to operate. Most converters not only produce 12VDC for the trailer, they have battery charging capabilities also. So yes, the generator running will result in the onboard battery(s) getting charged.

No problem sir....that is how we all learn, by asking questions. I was a total newbie back in Oct. 2016 when I bought my first ever camper.....and I asked a lot of questions and got help from soooo many folks.
