    376th/ 376ths Rear ground clearance

    Hi
I am new to this forum. I came here to learn more about Grand Design. We really love the 376th, 376ths and plan on purchasing one soon, well maybe a little bit longer than soon due to the Covid 19. I have been beating these things to death to the point of being anal. I am looking for the good the bad and the ugly. One question in particularly the rear ground clearance. it seems low is anyone bottoming out going up steep hills ? Also the roof ladder is there an extension I can add and remove for the top. I know I have to get up there but I freaken HATE ladders. This place is great!
    Thanks

Yes the back could touch and it might not be pretty.
HERE is a LINK to a thread that talks about the problem and the fix.

I had a neighbor with a welder zap my roller on the back.
The ladder is easy to get up onto the roof without having an extension.

    Rollers are your friends...

Minimize roof climbing by installing slide toppers. You can get extensions for the ladders from ground, but not for roof step off. Many just buy a collapsible telescoping ladder and use it instead.

I bought heavy duty rollers (with zerk fittings) online and had them welded to the frame. This is a must. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when. I have had the rollers make contact more than once. Sometimes you only know because of the scuff marks on the rollers. You don’t even know you have bottomed out sometimes. Not saying this is going to happen every time out, but it does happen.

I installed 3 rollers across the back and it works fine. A lot have installed 4 across the back. Your choice. The frame has small “skid” plates (two) on the back, but it won’t be long until you wear them off. Rollers should be standard equipment on this type of drop frame trailer.

Thank you for your reply. So that's the fix. Can you think of any other "oh yeah by the way" I might want to know about the 376?
Also what is in the garage.
    Thank you for your help

Yeah, she a nice looking girl, just don't piss her off. Only can be found in Lower Slower Delaware. Maybe that explains it.

Currently we carry a Harley Street Glide or a golf cart depending where we are headed. Only one at a time.

Did you buy the 376 and would you again? Any bottom out issues? Did you install rollers?
