I just received word of a new Pin Box from Gen-Y (https://genyhitch.com/) which should be available in the next two months as a direct replacement for the Turning Point. The option that is most important to me will be the option to use a gooseneck connection on our GMC Sierra 2500 HD.

Replacement hitch pin for the Trailair by Lippert
After watching some videos on the afforementioned GenY Pin Box with gooseneck style possibly I was praying they would in fact make a product to replace the Trailair. For me it can't come soon enough. Happy Trails

The turning point pin box replacement is a Gen-Y Torsion Flex Part #GH-8047AL. it a Gooseneck style hitch. I wish it had been out a year ago. Now i have to re-outfit my truck.

Will use of this hitch void the trailer frame warranty?

Currently the Reese Goose Box like # RP94720 is the only replacement pin box that will connect to a gooseneck ball that is approved by Lippert to not void their Frame Structure Warranty. The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY58GR has not yet received Lippert's approval to not void the frame warranty

What I don't see is how you can adjust for proper clearance between the 5w and the truck bed...given only one row of fasteners on the pin box.

There is a small amount of adjustment, as the gen-y has two rows of holes to choose from and gives about a 2” height adjustment

I am not that familiar with the Turning Point pin box, but can’t that be locked to act like a conventional hitch ??
