    Battery question

We took our 2020 Solitude 310GK in for warranty work and when we picked her up the batteries were drained enough that we had a low voltage message on the leveling system panel. The dealer jumped the battery so we could hitch up and get on the road. After a two hour drive the batteries had not charged sufficiently enough for us to unhitch once we arrived home. Wondering if the batteries were damaged by being drained at the dealership or if there is another issue. Any suggestions or insight would be appreciated

Would need to know the battery voltage for understanding Depth of Discharge, DOD your experiencing. Lead Acid Batteries even in the best of condition should not be discharged below 50% capacity for longevity. Also the battery cut-off switch in our GD's trailers do not fully,100% shut down battery usage.

Thank you, we are just completing our first year so still learning a lot. I think the batteries were discharged to around 25% but would have thought the 2 hour drive home would have recharged them enough to power the leveling system. I will have them checked but sounds like it may be time for new batteries

2 hours is not enough time to charge a deeply discharged battery via the truck. Do make sure your GM is set up to send voltage back through the 7 way. Used to be for GMs thar you had to put the charge line on a terminal in the under hood fuse box and then plug in a MAXI fuse before it was hot. In the future, have the service department confirm full battery charge and drop off on the work order and sign it. Then if discharged when you pick up, it's their problem to remedy. Hopefully you have shore power at home and you can charge. While not great for your battery by any means, should recover if this was a one-time event.

Thanks for the advice, I will certainly confirm that the service department leaves me with a full charge in the future, another lesson learned
