    BAL Hide-A-Spare for Imagine 2400BH

I have an Imagine 2400BH on order and want to add a BAL Hide-A-Spare when it arrives. I have seen threads posted for the 2800BH that indicate the BAL 28218 (for I-beam style frames and enclosed underbelly) is appropriate. I am assuming the 2400BH (and probably all Imagines) are the same I-beam construction, but can anyone confirm?

Also, I know I will need to take a peak under the insulation/belly cover to be sure I'm not drilling into electrical, LP lines or tanks, but can anyone comment on whether a rear position, just forward of the rear jacks, is likely to work out?

    Thanks!

    Matt

On our 2650 there is a 2" square tube welded under the frame that extends past the rear axle. I used the Hide a Spare for a "C" channel frame and attached it to the square tubing with two 3/8" self tapping bolts on each side. I didn't have to drop the coroplast on the installation.

    Jmbopp, thanks for the input.

I found an owner video on youtube with a good view of the underside. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUSjnOr6NFo&t=615s At 8 1/2 minutes you can see the driver side clearly and that square tube under the frame stops about 18-24 inches behind the axles.

You can see the tubing under the I-beam frame I screwed the Hide a Spare to.

Thanks, I'm scared that on ours ground clearance might be an issue where we go. I'll have to double check. It would be nice to get the spare off of the bumper.

I mounted it close to the rear axle, and haven't had any issues so far.
