2018 Chevy 3500HD
Considering picking up a used 2018 Duramax/Alison, DRW, Long bed. I have never driven one, looking for comments on those who have/had one of comparable year. Supposedly they came out with a new/better motor for this year?

I have that truck in a 2017, which is unchanged for 2018. I bought it new. It was the first year for this refresh, with the air scoop on the hood and the new L5P diesel duramax. I previously towed a travel trailer with a 2002 8.1L gas engine Silverado 2500. Day and night difference in power and comfort. I have been mostly in the SE USA, but am able to tow our fifth wheel with ease with the cruise control on.
The only issues were getting two glow plugs replaced under warranty at different times. This showed itself with the "check engine" light being on.
Other things fixed by recall were the engine block heater, and re-flashing the computer for the diesel particulate filter cleaning.
We love the truck, but I am not impartial, having always bought GM products.
Good luck!
