303RLS Shower Mod / Rear Couch Removal
Ended up removing the corner shower sliding glass doors, undecided for now on if I will remove the two outer glass panels and OEM rail... I likely will though. Opened things up just a little and the wife really did not want the glass sliders and preferred a curtain. Our preference would have been a tradition style rectangle shaped shower, but we loved the 303 and had to make some compromises. After searching for an existing solution I ended up picking up some 3/4 inch schedule 40 PVC. A heat gun, some shaping and reshaping, and the final product.
Also decided to remove the rear sleeper sofa, now we have so much room for activities! The plan is to install a desk all the way across and just below the rear window. Some shelves will go underneath the desk top. That project will start in a couple of weeks.

Hello BubbleGutz; did you ever get around to removing the sofa? Did you find that it was bolted down or anchored to the floor in some way? Did you have to take it apart to get it out the door? We too are looking to remove ours and replace it with the Thomas Payne smaller Euro chairs.

IIRC, when I removed our sofa to replace it with a desk (https://www.mygrandrv.com/forum/show...94-Sewing-desk) it was screwed to the floor and came apart easily. I believe I had to remove 2 cotter pins to allow the fold out part to come off. Then take the screws out of the floor and both parts went out the door with no problem.

Yup, the sofa is anchored on the bottom, both sides, by small brackets and a few screws and cotter pins. It will need to come apart to get it out the door easily, I broke it down into three: remove rear cushions and then separate fold-out bed/sitting area from couch frame. All you have left at this point is the carcass/frame making the removal much easier. The whole thing is simply held together with screws, once you fold out the bed you can see how easily the whole thing comes apart. Took about 10 minutes to get the couch out.

Hey Bub,
Was thinking that if you're planning to remove the doors AND the side panels..
WHY didn't ya just raise the shower radius top to use as a curtain rod ??
Seems like the same radius and location from your pics ....and mighta saved ya some work ??
BTW....Pick up an Oxygenics shower head.
GREAT FLOW and saves water for when you're out in the boonies !!
DW will love it !

Thanks for the tip on the shower head, we are picking one up after checking them out due to your comment. We did talk about bringing the rail up but in the end the wife liked the simplicity of standard shower curtain rings. Also, we ended up pulling the side glass off and keeping the top metal beam as a towel hang area.
