MORryde IS or 7/8K axles with disc brakes?
I can't tell if drums are still standard for the 310GK-R. From the Build & Price on the website, seems like 7k Discs and 8K discs are both options. Which would you choose - MORryde IS or factory axles and discs? The H rated Coopers are a Mandatory option for the 8K axles but per GD customer service, all the Solitudes were H rated week of Oct 5th. Different rim size or are they the same?
TIA

Hands down MORryde IS (w/ disc brakes).
The 310GK really doesn't need 8,000lb axles. The GVWR is 15,000 so the standard 7,000lb axles are rated for almost the entire GVWR. By comparison, Grand Design uses 7,000lb axles for their 5th wheels with 16,800GVWR.
The MORryde IS system gives your trailer a plush ride with nearly double the suspension travel and you will never again have to worry about the horse buggy springs and weak spring hangars found on the factory suspension.
And yes, drums are still standard.Brian & Kellie

MORryde IS with discs. Hands down. I was super disappointed when I heard the 8Ks are slung on 1.75" springs still! Normally, 8K axles are the jump to 2" leafs. I'm heading back to the factory next week and going to see if I can find an 8K equipped to confirm (there weren't any in the yard last month). There is good reason the IS is standard on some higher end brands. Had some great conversations with the MORryde team and my impromptu tour.

I'm thinking seriously about getting the MORryde IS w/disc brakes installed out here in Oregon.
The quote was almost $15,000.00. WOW (3 axle Solitude) 4 days to install.
Not having to worry about anything suspension related ever again is probably worth it. Less or easier maintenance too. KENBackpacker and tent camper all my life, including BSA as a kid and adult.

How does the IS suspension react with triples when backing?
Does it still try to twist the rubber off the tire?

I watched MORryde putting a Luxe TH through the paces after install, and it is better with that because the articulation is independent. However, it's not gone, nor can it be given campers are not set up with steerable axles, and triples are the worst (my old enclosed car carrier was a triple). That said, when that IS rolls over a railroad track and you're not searching Google maps for the closest chiropractor immediately after you realize the wise investment! Lol. Seriously. They let me come along during a test tow. After much toiling, I concluded it was too much to invest in as an add-on, but our next unit will have IS or air ride!
