Squeaky Shower Faucet.
How ironic - I replaced a faucet for a friend in their RV a few weeks ago because the bathroom sink's hot water faucet squeaked when turning the water on and off. Then my hot water valve in the shower started doing the same thing. Cheap plastic things!!!
Before just outright replacing it I figured I'd pull it apart and see what was up. Look story short.... I fixed it by applying some plumbers waterproof grease.
Here are some photos in case this helps anyone....
First I turned off the water supply and drained the lines to the faucet by turning the faucets on and opening the low point drain valves.
These are the individual parts. The handle comes off by pressing in on the small plastic button (you can see it on the 3rd part from the left). After the handle is removed you have to remove the screw in the middle of the grey plastic piece for that piece to come off. You can loosen the white collar with a pair of common pliers (it doesn't need too much pressure) and remove it.
Here is a photo with the collar unscrewed allowing access to the valve body.
The valve body can be pulled out of the valve chamber. You can see the 2 pieces of the valve in the first photo. The stem pulls from the cartridge body.
I applied a light coating of grease to the inside of the valve chamber and to the valve stem and cartridge (the 2 items on the right in the first photo. Keep track of the ORIENTATION OF THE STEM AND CARTRIDGE BODY when you remove it and disassemble it.
This is the grease I used.
Reassembly was just as easy. I did the cold water valve at the same time since I had the water off. Not only did the squeaking go away, the faucets now turn much easier. I'm OK with this faucet but did consider a single handle type with some temperature control built it but this is working fine for us so I'll spend the money on some other (frivolous) thing.Larry KE4DMG

I've been doing this in our RVs since we hit the road... I just wasn't considerate enough to take photos and post about the process. Thanks for doing that.
