    Really weird electrical issue

We have a 2017 26RL fifth wheel. There is an intermittent smell of rotten eggs coming out of a single electric outlet in our trailer. It is the one nearest to the circuit breaker box (right above it). Any ideas of what it could be? We don't want the trailer to catch fire, of course, and hope to allay our fears or solve it before we can get to a repair facility in a week.

I would check your battery. A battery that has boiled off water or has a crack /leak can release a rotten egg smell. The smell may be migrating from the battery area into where you are noticing it.

The battery has already been checked by a mobile RV mechanic. There are no issues with it. He couldn’t figure out the cause either.

That was also checked by the mechanic and is fine.

A loose connection in that box may be getting hot and creating a smell. Open it up and see what you can see.

That makes sense. The RV repair guy looked at the front of the box and all the breakers were fine. But he didn’t feel confident to open up behind it. We’re worried about any potential fire hazard and hope to get a second opinion as soon as we’re out of The isolation of Big Bend TX.

Sorry, I actually meant the outlet box you are getting the smell from. Good luck!

Yeah, good idea. A loose connection can cause arcing which is very dangerous. Also a good idea to check connections at breakers and fuses once in awhile.
