    Fender Skirt Replacement

Both of the fender skirts on my 2018 2250 are broken. The curb side I was able to repair enough to use for now, but the street side is completely destroyed. My local dealer said it would be $50 for one skirt and about $70 for shipping. The dealer GD recommended that ships directly to me wants even more.

Has anyone had any experience with skirts from RecPro or IconDirect? If so, did you find one that fits? I saw some that were close, but not exact matches. The skirt creator at Icon Direct are even more money than the OEM skirts.

Can your local dealer have it shipped inside a unit being delivered? Should be no cost that way

You will pay similar shipping from either as well because the skirts end up being oversized by dimension. Both have equal or better quality (ICON is an OE supplier to many makers too).

Any RV salvage yards your way? The skirt shapes are pretty generic as I am sure you're finding. Know anyone that works with fiberglass or casting resins? Could make a mold from the one you have and duplicate out of those materials.

Try these folks www.rvupgradestore.com They did excellent on my last order unlike RecPro who sent the wrong item the first time and took forever to get the second too me. I was told it shipped when it stayed in the warehouse for 3 days.

That's an idea. I'll have to look into it.

RecPro actually offers free shipping, but I can't see one exactly the right dimensions. No salvage yards that I'm aware of.

They do carry them, but most of them are around $200 each... so their "free" shipping isn't free at all.

True - but they do have some good pricing on other things and they actually answer their phone.

    Just trying to help

On edit there was a post a while back, where someone back-filled the fender with closed cell foam before installing. Said it made it a lot stronger.

Anytime you trigger oversize shipping the cost goes up. I needed a new grille for my TV. Grille was $70 - shipping was $200. Luckily there was a nearby aftermarket parts seller that I could pickup the grille.

Unfortunately if you can't pick it up you are going to pay for oversized shipping.

Edit:. You may want to check with Paramount Auto Body in Reno. According to their website they are the largest factory authorized collision center specializing RV parts and collision repair.

I've been there several times... I can't imagine their prices being any better, but I can check...
