That is a wonderful explanation, thank you so much. New 351M owner here. I had read the instructions and have successfully auto leveled. Even read in the manual where it talks about if the nose is low it negates the hitch height function. I've had some complications with low battery power issues that I believe I will have corrected when I receive my LifePO 12V 170Amp hour battery. Thanks again.

I'm a newbie (Reflection 290BH), but when my first campsite visited had about a 3-4 degree slope (front-back AND side-side), I quickly learned that A) you need to get the rig much closer to level (<2 degrees) using 2x10s under the downslope wheels, etc. (Of course you also don't need to do this in the dark when it's raining). We survived, and the rig is fine, especially after some old-timers came over and took pity on me and showed me some pointers. Live and Learn, as they say. Good luck!

Is it normal for the front stabilizers to deploy one at a time until it makes ground contact, then the other side deploys and makes ground contact, then both rise in unity to life the unit off hitch?

Yes. Same as @FT4NOW. That is how mine work. Never had any issues.

Initially, when I used the "drop front landing gear" both front legs would go down, and, when they touched ground, stop. Then I could manually raise the rig off the hitch.
Recently (in the last year or so), it seems that one leg starts down, then the other sometime after it, not always after the first is all the way down. So they don't touch ground at the same time now.

Reflections use electric landing gear vs the hydraulic in the Solitudes. Operation is different. @Sportsdad60 has a Solitude as did the OP.
