    Tires! Sailun S637

    Hi,
My stock tires are getting a little thin for me, and I want the ability to tow faster when I want to. I started looking around and found the Sailun S637 in our size. I just ordered 4 of them from a vendor on ebay. I'm really looking forward to them. They're G rated, and speed rated to 75 MPH. They're $187 ea. shipped. Much cheaper than the Goodyears. I'll let you all know how they tow.

The Sailuns should do a very good job for you. You do need to check your wheels to see if they're capable of 110 lbs. of air pressure. That's what it takes for G's.

I've heard nothing but good things about that tire, and they're a bargain in comparison with the G614's.

So, where are Sailun tires made ? Trying to track this online gets rather convoluted.

They're Chinese--probably the only really good tire made there. Don't read of any customer complaints, and the price is right.

My only problem is that Sailun dealers are not as common as Michelin, and Goodyear dealers--in case of a problem.

That's why I ended up ordering from Ebay. Finding a local dealer was difficult.

Tires are mounted and balanced. Plenty of spacing between the tires afterwards. They look great! I'll give a tow report once I get them out. They seemed great on the short drive home at 45 MPH. Discount Tire couldn't air them all the way to 110PSI, but I will before we leave for the next adventure. These things are massive. The are easily twice the weight of the Westlakes. I paid $755 for the tires, and another $113 for mounting and balancing. I'll let you know how they tow after our next trip.

Just wanted to add more info for those trying to decide which way to go. When ordering our 305RE, the Goodyears were an extra two thousand bucks for five of them, and no, they would not give me the original Westlakes.

My Bridgestone Duravis R250 ribbed tires were $197 each at Costco plus installation is $15. And I'll have the Westlakes on Craigslist bringing the net cost down a little.

Yep, the Goodyear G614's are great tires, but nobody ever said high quality is cheap. It makes the Sailuns look like a complete bargain for G tires.

First weekend towing with the Sailuns. Round trip of just over 100 miles, and there is a difference. The rig is more sturdy and handles well. We really enjoyed towing at 75MPH. We're going to Colorado Springs in 2 weeks. We'll see how it goes for that trip.
    Thanks

I am interested to see how your Sailuns hold up. I had just put a set of G614s on my trade. Had them moved to the 369RL. I love the G614 but, they are pricey.
