The 4000 isn't a very strong equalizer. Probably fail if it was used as a means to lift the overall height of the trailer

Where did you hear that? I've had a CRE3000 for 5 seasons and close to 20,000 miles and zero issues. The new Altrek 4000 is stock on some better built trailers.

You will need at least 3 inches of clearance on a fully loaded trailer. After we put the 16 inch wheels on we could see contact with the trailer and tire. We put a 2inch lift on and have been fine sense.

    It's not a 'hear'...It's my opinion.
I have no problem with the 3000 other than it's longevity and weld breaks. Mine's worn out after about 15000 miles. The 4000 uses a rubber shear spring/block with no safety pin or way to catch the suspension when the rubber shears. The 3000 does.
I'm not a fan of Mor-ryde equalizers. Their engineering is second rate in my opinion. Just the equalizers, no experience with their other stuff.

This is confusing...Please clarify your terminology. There is NO cre4000.

    Which is it:
    CRE-3000
    SRE-4000 (Discontinued)
    AllTrek 4000 (New)
