    Kantleak Valve

I kommitted the kardinal rule of kantleak kartridgeology, twisting the knob while on city water.
First klue was my fresh water tank slowly filled up each time I was on city water.
Fortunately I had my spare because two of the rubber seats were trashed.
Installed the new cartridge and everything works according to Hoyle.
Ordering a new spare later today.

Hey John, just FYI Anderson Brass has made a better replacement unit with better guts. Can't remember the price but I replaced mine a couple years ago and it is more stout. I still don't rotate while under pressure though.

John - where did you order your replacement from and how much ? I replaced my original cartridge a few years ago and had a complete new water panel installed by the GDRV factory service center when we had our walls replaced in May, 2018. I would like to have a spare cartridge on hand in case that I or someone else may need one.

Dan, I'm sure John will be back with more recent info but for now... Anderson Brass sells them. Be sure to get the matching version for your panel.

Thanks Jim, I can't remember where I bought the last one.
I'm on the ABCORV website, but dealing with slow internet at this camp site.
All I can see are panels, do you know if we can buy just the valve?

    Thanks,

    John

Last time i talked to them it was only the whole panel but it’s been a few years. I would just call them. They are/were very helpful.

Edit: And they did give me a substantial discount due to the known issues.

Just to be clear, I’m talking about the newer version of the panel in my last post.

They do sell replacement cores for old version and I’m sure newer version(s) also.

I called Grand Design, she gave me the part number, 310056, said I have to order it through a dealer.
Its $199.00, should have it in a week.

Our trailer's always on city water, and I've not even moved my Kantleak valve since it was new. Thought best left alone. 5 years, and it's good.

I did have a leak in the nylon/plastic plumbing attached, and it was easily fixed with gray Teflon tape. Come to find out, that part of the plumbing was designed and assembled by Grand Design.
