New 320G

The wife and I are picking up our new 320G tomorrow. I have printed out the PDI checklist to help me with the inspection. With all the great knowledge out there does anyone have any inputs on a toy hauler? It does have the solar system installed but don't see anything on a PDI about what to look for on a solar system. Anything inputs would be great. Thanks

As difficult it is to be excited and want to get it home, remember it’s a business transaction. Open and close every door, Turn on and off everything. We just had a laundry list of warranty claims on stuff we missed in PDI, like one of the USBs in the master never worked. If you find anything wrong that will prevent you from camping, don’t take possession. Just my two cents.

For the solar, make sure they can demonstrate the battery is being charged by the solar panels and that the inverter provides AC while disconnected from shore power. I'm not sure what, if any type of battery monitor is installed by the factory to visually see a charge, so they could always put a meter on the battery.

Go to forum tab at top, look down forum list to Reference Library and open that forum. The PDI checklists thread is third from top-a “sticky”, so it stays up there. Good luck, don’t get tired!

Well we made it home from picking up the 320G. I picked it up at Lazydays RV in Tucson AZ. It was ready for a PDI inspection fridge cold all ac's where running, gas in the generator tank, full water tank. The trailer was very clean from top to bottom. We inspected everything spent almost 4.5 hours and only found a few screws that needed to be installed completely. The service person that went over everything with us was outstanding explaining every item. I can say I learned a lot about the solar power system and there is a power panel which shows all the info. Ran all power items on the generator with the shore power removed from trailer. This is out first Grand Design and we are really impressed with the workmanship and attention to detail. New to the auto leveling system beats all the cranking and leveling aids. Cant wait to take it camping.
