Excessive front tire wear on tow vehicle

I tow an Imagine 2400BH with a 2019 Ford Expedition w/ HD Tow. I just changed over to my snow tires and noticed that my summer tires had worn significantly more in the front than the rear. I bought the car last fall so they pretty much only got significant mileage this last summer while towing.
Is excessive front tire wear a sign of an over tight weight distribution hitch? My winter tires have even wear so I do not think it is an alignment issue.

Probably not as steer tires wear more heavily towing due to the 8 increased resistance to turning. However, it'll help to know the specifics of your tires and if your weight distributing hitch was setup with scale verification or just measuring tow vehicle squat.

The tires and Hankook Dynapro AT2 that came stock. I setup the weight distribution using squat. I verified capacities using a cat scale, nothing jumped out at the time regarding the front axle.

LT or no? Regardless, they're not known to be a particularly well-wearing tire. More aggressive tread patterns also tend to wear less evenly when towing compared to a ribbed design. One thing that's a must with regular towing is to rotate the tow vehicle tires to promote more even wear. Every 5K is quite common.

Excessive wear can happen two ways, Not enough weight allowing the tires to slip more and too much weight. Hankook tires are soft - I have run them on the wife's Escape - good sticky tries, but not known for long life. In my opinion there is a trade of. The softer compounds give better traction, long life (harder compounds) less so.

Rob is correct tire rotation when towing is critical to even out the wear.
    Hope this helps.

BTW when I used a wd hitch I set the bars so there was no front end lift or settlement over stock. Otherwise the handling got squirrely.
    Hope this helps

What type of wear pattern are you seeing on your front tires, outter edge wear, feathering, cupping, center wearing? Determining what type of wear will help with a solution. For example, if your tires are wearing more in the center could be a combination of lack of front axle weight and/or over inflation.

As another poster stated, rotating your tires more frequently during the towing season will definitely assist to prolong your tire life.

Hate to say this but the Hankook Dynapros are junk. On my last Explorer they were 2/3's gone at 20K miles! Replaced them with Michelins and even swapped the Michelins to my '19 Explorer when I traded last year. They have 25K miles on them now and look great, will easily go 50-60K. I highly recommend you replace the Hankooks especially towing.
