That must ahve made your stomach turn when you saw the damage.
GD has a department for insurance repairs, I think it is head up by J D Adams . Give a call customer service and they'll help youset things up.Marcy & Gary

From my understanding you cannot drive the RV across the border. You have to be in America before the RV can be transported. What we have heard people are doing is flying across into America which is allowed, then paying a transporter to transport it just over the border to a location where you can pick it up With a rented or hired truck. The rules are very screwy and make no sense at all. But that's what happens when the government gets involved.

Can RVs be totaled by the insurance company like cars? I’m no sure that rig can ever be repaired to be safe.

Yes, absolutely! RV's are not in standard collision estimating databases and extremely hard for an adjuster to accurately estimate.
Due to limited RV repairs facilities and the higher salvage values, it is often advantageous for the insured and insurance company to declare an RV to be a total loss.
Long ago and far away I was a licensed insurance adjuster. Specialized in auto and Rv claims. Only lasted 12 years before I went back to the Army.Jeff and Mary
