Need help getting entry door open.

Lets see if someone can help. We arrived at our campground in a 2018 Reflection 337RLS. Our door while unlocked wouldn't open. I climbed in the window and took apart the locking mechanism but still can't get the door to open. I feel like the door latch is catching on the strike plate but cant get it to release. Any ideas? Thanks.

When I got locked in the dealer talked me through dismantling the entire lock.
is the lock operating correctly? Also is there any way you can remove enough parts to force it off the plate. Or does it feel like it is hanging up on a loose screw?

If you have both sides of the latch out and still cannot manually actuate it, your only choice, to avoid damage, is to remove the vinyl trim around the outside door flange and remove the screws within a foot or so above and below the latch, cut any caulking, and the gently lever the flange away from the door to pop the latch.

Thanks Gary! Love all the post from you and Marcy. I took the lock apart and it would still not open till I found the deadbolt part and manually disconnected it, then vola, it opened. Going to head out in the morning and get a new lock with number combo, key and FOB.

Glad you got the door open. Do a search (google) on a lock recall there is a series of lock numbers that are not good and when you buy a new lock regardless of brand I would stay away from those key numbers. When our lock was replaced the brand was not included in the recall but had all the same issues.

a little hint, when the text is red it is Marcy, Black text is Gary posting.
