    Several great replies here in this thread. 6k Lumens would be overkill I m sure for your everyday needs. I bought a 1500lumen flashlight from Costco and its crazy bright but not my go to light. We have 2 500 lumen flashlights that are very good for everyday use purposes and my wife's 1200 if I need more. The 1500; well it's more of showoff thing for me. The 1200 we have has the option of regular batteries or a chargeable option. Here is the thread.
