These are issues with travel trailers where this junction box is mounted on the frame subjected to all kinds of road challenges. Our fivers do not have this issue to deal with........just others at times !

You won't. This is typical of tagalongs. Our 5th wheels have the umbilical junction up between the pin box wing set.

The picture that you will see is from my New in February 2020 Reflection 300 Rbts it looks the same now as after I got it home.
I can see that this will be a problem down the road as I was a Automotive mechanic for 30 years. My plan is to relocate all the wiring inside the storage compartment
and put in a proper box what are all your thoughts on that and has anyone done this. GD also must have run out of paint because it has surface rust which I will sand and repaint.

    Thanks everyone.

You can also look into the Blue Sea product line from the marine industry as well as the Bergman line. Blue Sea products are also sold at West marine. If you have a West marine, you can actually put your hands on the product and see and feel the quality of it.

I hope there's room for the circuit breakers in that box.

If you have a 5th wheel you won't have it. Mine is a 300 RBTS There is also a relay not in the picture. I have decided to relocate put everything into a sealed box inside the pass through. That way if I have any wiring problems easy to work on. I have to say I am not impressed that they would build it that way. I am also replacing the battery disconnect switch with a blue sea marine type. The factory one if it gets hit I feel it could break off.

That is very disheartening. I would certainly put a marine grade box around it. Clean all the contacts and then apply dielectric grease liberally to all the contacts. Probably even use stainless steel hardware. I recently replaced a circuit breaker pack on the bottom of one of my trailers. The battery stopped charging when plugged in. Turned out to be one of those little self-resetting circuit breakers in a little metal box under the trailer wired exactly like your photo. 2 years old and hardly any use, but it had rusted so badly that the contacts broke. Clearly not made for external use. Still, that's the RV industry.

Mine is the same. Very surprised to see that. At a minimum they could spray the posts with am electrical protective coating. My previous rv had an orange coating that worked quite well.

They did. It's oil-based - the one used - and is slowly lost in the heat. You can't use the good stuff anymore as it was pulled because of the toxicity of the ingredients.
