14 x 2.5" phillips wafer head self-drilling screw. Do I have this correct?
Replacing some of the tie down D rings in the garage.
They are fastened with 1/4"-14 x 2.5" phillips wafer head self-drilling screws.
Some need replacing too.
Googling for an hour and hitting the local hardware stores can't find them.
Am I measuring them right? Am I calling this right? Where do you find them?

Rounded head instead of flat waferhead I guess will have to do. Nothing else close to it.
Thanks for the link.

If there is a Fastenal store near you they should have something that would work. https://www.fastenal.com/product/fas...sExpanded=true
I want to add that those seem awful long at 2-1/2". There is no benefit of having the threads past the subfloor. They are only going to lag into what is there. Just my thought: in my cargo trailer that had 2 ply 1-1/4" thick sub floor I drilled and bolted the E-Track to the floor. It was probably overkill but then I never had it come loose either.2018 F150 XLT 301a, Screw, 4x4, HDPP, Max tow, Andersen Ultimate w/ Curt Double Lock hitch.

I replaced most of my tie down fasteners in the garage with SS nuts, bolts and lock washers. The outter screws are longer than the center screw if I recall. I'm pretty sure I went with 1/4" bolts, but did have to drill the holes slightly larger compared to the factory screws. A lot of the factory screwheads broke off on my floor tie downs before I even used them. Also, the factory screws screw directly into the frame rails, not just the subflooring.

That's what I suspected thanks.
They don't necessarily want to go back in when replacing the D ring.
Ya gotta be spot on getting it to line up and jive in correctly.
I might be overreacting but I try and replace parts with the exact part. In this case I'm asking too much. I have bad dreams of opening the RV door and there's a Can Am sitting in my kitchen with the garage wall exploded and the sink in the driver's seat.
The rivets pulling away from the D ring mount were an eye opener.Last edited by Dive Bar Casanova; 11-19-2020 at 10:09 AM.

I think in my case the replacement parts I used exceeded GDs original hardware. After drilling the holes, the new bolts dropped right in. I use the d rings to help tie down dirt bikes in conjunction with the 'bolt it on' system and the new hardware worked out great, better than the factory fasteners that have broken screw heads. Although, I did install 2 new floor anchors for the bulk of the 'bolt it on' system mainly because I needed the floor anchors to be about 6" closer to the forward wall.

If you haven't already purchased, you might look in hardware at Lowe's, Home Depot or Ace for "GRK" fasteners. They are made for installing cabinets, but not self drilling. I do a lot of work around the house and use these almost exclusively now except where a counter-sink head makes more sense. They require a torx bit, but that comes in the package with the screws and you just use it in your drill or impact driver like any other bit.
those who say "I can't", will always be right

These would be similar to a 'Trailer Deck Board Screw'. They are used to fasten the wood deck boards to the frame on an equipment trailer. I have used them on my floor repairs in my Airstream. I do know that our ACE Hardware has them. Here is a screen shot of one I got off Amazon. I have always seen them with a torx head.
