Broken recliner pull cord
My wife and I own a 2017 Grand Designs Imagine BH2800 that has the twin recliners. One day I attempted to pull the handle to extend the foot rest and I was unable to even budge the handle. Not wanting to break the plastic handle I reached down further and grabbed the cord - still unable to extend the foot rest. I had posted this issue some time ago, and one respondent suggested I unbolt the recliner from the floor. Problem is there is no way to get to the bolts on the broken chair side because the foot rest cannot be extended allowing access to the bolts. Attempted to manually extend the foot rest and it won't budge.
Has anybody else experienced this problem? I sure would appreciate any advice or suggestions. I have asked the dealer about this issue and all I get back is a blank stare. They tell me to "bring it in" which I'm not going to do because the unit is setup permanently with the usual decks, etc., etc.
Sure would appreciate any advice or fix.
Stay safe!

When sitting in the recliner, I rock forward and push the footrest back (toward the inside of the base area) with my feet while pulling the cord. This seems to ease some of the tension and it releases easier. The first couple of times that I released the footrest, it “popped” open. I decided that might not be good, in the long run, and looked for an alternative method of release that might be easier on the hardware and possibly make it last a little longer. Time will tell.
