DEF and the wide difference in price

I am new to DEF in the 2020 Ram 3500
I find a wide variance in price and am unsure if it relates to quality of product.
Auto stores from 10.00 to 18.00 for 2.5 gallons.
Farmers supply 14.00 for 5 gallons (kinda unwieldy).
Does the price difference coincide with quality of product?

I just use Motorcraft DEF from the dealer, about $ 13.00 for 2.5 gallons (employee price.) I run the gauge on the dash down to 1/2 full and 1 jug brings it back to full, kind of weird since it's a 7+ gallon tank.

As long as it is licensed with API and meets ISO 22241 it doesn't matter. Buy from the pump at truck stops any time you can. Much cheaper and no worries about freshness. When you buy boxed, learn how to read the date code.

+1 on purchasing from a truck stop or other gas station with a DEF pump, price will be $2.XX per gallon.

Walmart brand $7.92 2 1/2 gallons always fresh check the seal/date. Would use truck stop when available.

If you buy a box, ensure that it is sealed. I’ve heard stories of people using it, then refilling the box with water and returning it, where it may go back onto the shelf. Some people are pretty far down the food chain...
