Noisy Pump explained. Finally.
I’ve always felt my water pump was too loud, but because we are seldom around other people when using it, it was low priority for repair. Coming home from a trip, my wife flushed the toilet while was pumping fuel and it was loud enough I decided I was going to look into it during the off-season.
Pulled the basement wall this week for some other work, and finally saw the reason staring me in the face. A joint where the pump outlet line connects to the rest of the plumbing is wedged against the trap in the shower drain. The entire shower pan is vibrating when the pump is on.
If you’ll look closely at this picture, you’ll see a problem I might never have noticed if I hadn’t opened it up shortly after winterizing
The liner of the soft hose visible in the picture is tinted slightly pink, exposing a small leak that might have driven me crazy trying to find. Should be a fairly simple fix if I don’t get carried away making things neater!John & Kathy

A few weeks ago I took coils of PEX and a bag of fittings out of our basement so I could work in there installing an inverter. Yesterday I put them back in the basement, ready again for re-building our messy plumbing. They've been there for nearly two years. I'm a leading expert on not getting carried away, if you need help with that.
Congrats on your find and fix!Mark - 2018 Solitude 310GK - 2017 F-350 diesel SRW short box - Pullrite Superglide hitch

I can see how that could really be noisy. Good catch and happy flushing from now on.

John @jkwilson - we too had situations where the pump was louder than normal. I cut pieces of 1/2" pipe insulation in various lengths and wrapped hot and cold lines in maybe a dozen or so locations where I could see possible vibration occurring. This significantly cut down "pump noise"......vibration from the lines where now we can hardly hear the pump.

With previous trailers we have also used 1/2" pipe insulation for anti-rattle purposes. Works great. Ty-wraps can help too.
