    Hot water bypass valves

Can anyone tell me how to access the bypass valves for the hot water heater? The rear cover drops down but are the valves behind that?

If you are talking about a 2970RL they are behind bottom drawer in bedroom.

Find your water heater, then look on the INSIDE in that area.

Some are behind false panels, some are accessible by drawers, etc. The valves are on the back side of the water heater.

I can see that. But it's not clear how to get to inside. I do see a main drain line but not the valve bypass

OK, so, on your model you have to go into your outdoor kitchen and unscrew the 2 square drive screws on the back (left) panel.

Look inside and you should see this, with three bypass valves.

Ya know, for stuff like this, you would think GD could just put a 5 cent sticker on that panel that says "Remove Panel to Access Water Heater" or something to that affect.

Well, you should have been shown that at your walk through/demo.

If you weren't, shame on the selling dealer.

They simply asked if I wanted them to winterize it. I declined thinking I was going to keep it heated
