Soon-to-be-Full-timer Slide Preference Question
Looking at two different 33-foot fifth wheels to buy. One has the dining table/sofa/picture window slide on the curb side with the windowless kitchen on the street (driver) side. The other has them flipped. Which orientation is generally preferred and why?

This is probably a personal choice. I think a long time ago most trailers had the dinette on the PS. Then floor plans began to change and now anything goes. I'm not sure why some are on one side versus the other but floor-plan layout and weight most likely come into play.
Our preference is on the PS. We've had both. But this time the large PS windows and the position of the dinette on the PS won us over.Larry KE4DMG

From what I've read it seems that many people prefer the windowed side to be on the curb side (patio side). The street side is generally facing the hookups and usually not preferred.
That said, our dining table (with lots of windows) is on the street side. Our kitchen slide (curbside) does have a small window in it though.

Windows on the passenger side is definitely better. That way you look out on YOUR campsite, not your neighbours! Our last 5er was the other way, we hated it.

Our dining and windowed slide is curbside. We prefer that and pick out campsites based on that view. We like to have our shad a up and looking at the view. If the windowed slide is on the street side your neighbors would be looking at you. That is one of the things we love about our 2970RL is all the windows along the back and around the curbside slide. If the dining slide were street side I am sure it would not be as enjoyable.

Thank you for your insight. I haven't heard anyone say street side is preferred so I wonder why manufacturers build units with street side windowed slides. Go figure :-)

Some people like having outside kitchens. To do this it makes more sense having kitchen appliances lined up together. With having the fridge and stove on the passenger side that moves the table and chairs to the streetside. These people figure they don't spend much time inside so it doesn't matter. For what they are looking for it makes sense.
