    Viair compressors

    Hello there,
    Trying to buy what my wife and I need for our GD337RLS 5th wheel. Which model Viair compressor should we get for our GY endurance tires, 80 PSI? Thanks!

    This is the one I purchased. Not a lot of runtime on it but it seems impressive. I went with the 100% duty cycle one as a little bit of safety factor if I ever had to run an extended time. Be advised with the bag and accessories this thing is fairly large compared to the small plastic ones from the store.

    @Mary TV

    If you hurry the best price on Viair compressors is here. They will ship when back in stock I just ordered a 450P-RVS The sale is still on as far as I can see.

    I looked them over and went with the 450. Continuous cycle seemed like the best option. With most of the others, you have to shut them off and cool them down after some period of use.

    Have had the 400 for last two years.....and Love It.

    Works perfectly for the truck and trailer (110 lbs), yet it can be used for air toys etc.

    Has anyone converted their Viair from battery clips to a 4-Pin Flat Wiring Harness?
    If so, can you tell me how?

    You don’t want to do that. These compressors can draw 30A or more and the vehicle wiring can’t handle that.

    Mine is located in my toolbox in the bed of the truck, with a hole drilled in the bed of the truck for the air hose to go through for my air horns. I used a rubber grommet where the hose went through the bed. As far as electrical wiring, I installed a heavy duty 12VDC relay under the hood of the truck and fused it, then ran 8ga wire back to the air compressor. I also installed a small toggle switch inside the toolbox that I can easily turn on when I'm ready to refuel. That switch energizes the heavy duty relay and that in turn, powers up the pump. And yes, that pump can and does pull around 25 amps, so the relay is rated higher than that, I'm using a 30 amp fuse to protect the circuit, and it's all been good for the last 3 1/2 years.
