The rebates are where you usually see the big discount off MSRP, not sure what Ram does rebate wise on their heavy duties but Ford never has big rebates on them. Mine had a measly $ 500 plus another 500 D plan rebate. Now the F150's are a different story, 5-6K rebates are fairly common, hence the bigger "discount" off sticker.

To the OP question, I picked my truck because:
- The Laramie trim was very comfortable us. If you are going to spend hours in the saddle comfort is a safety issue.
- The mega cab gives tons of room in the back. Traveling with our Corgi means putting a small collapsable kennel back there to keep her contained.
- The factory air system is all I need. One button to push and it is level. When not towing, it rides fairly well for a 1 ton dually.
