    steps mount 310GK

Do the currently being built still have the step box that was used to mount the older folding scissor steps? I don't like the solid steps for a variety of reasons and if I order, will try to get the factory to install the old ones instead of the solid steps. Previously, couple years ago, they would do that. If a current owner of a new 310GK would look under the trailer at the frame rail there should be a "box" that steps mount to. Thanks

No. The units that come with the MORryde solid steps have a solid fender skirt under the door and no box for the conventional folding steps. There have been a few folks who have cut the fender skirt and had a box fabricated to mount the old-style steps. Just as an aside, we like our MORryde solid steps - but see advantages to the old ones we had on our Reflection, too.

When I was at the factory this Fall, the frames I observed had no remnants of traditional foldaway step mounts, and I saw no units at all being modified at the factory for such. That said, it's no big deal to make this adaptation. The skirting is easily cut. The steps are self-contained. All that is needed is the fabrication of mounting points to the frame, and that's nothing a good mobile welder couldn't handle for your in a couple of hours.

Any dealer or repair shop can get the box for the stairs and mount it. It is done all the time and is not a big deal' There are a lot of people out there with the glow steps that have had it done.

Thanks I was hoping the box would be there but it's just 2 pieces of metal. On the Raptor I ordered the dealer did the install of the steps, box was there on it. They are the exact same step as goes into the garage.

Mine had the mounting frame, but it was a few years ago. I got GD to delete the staircase and send a pair of the traditional steps and my dealer installed them, It caused quite a confusion when the unit arrived with no steps at all. And it was not easy getting GD to do this.

Anyhow, since then I have removed the traditional 4 step aluminum folding stairs and installed GlowSteps. I like them a lot.

If you are close by central FL and need some traditional steps let me know.

Pretty spiffy. That solves the space issue where deploying the solid steps is a hazard or impossible but looks like dirt and water still will be dumped inside. One of my issues with the solid steps is how far out they stick and there have been places, rest areas, where someone parked very close to the motorhome and solid steps could not have been folded back in IF they survived the night.

EDIT, I looked at the video again and it appeared that the skirting or side trim would still have to be cut. I didn't look at installation instructions if provided so not sure how much of an issue that could be.

Nice. However one of the complaints I've seen most often about the solid steps is that folding them into the trailer brings water and dirt in with them. The new TorkLift product won't resolve that complaint.

BTW we have the solid steps and like them a lot, despite their shortcomings including the dirt/water thing. They haven't given us a serious problem anywhere yet.

Nope, won't solve the dirt / water issue but solves the cutting and no undermount problem. Persoanlly if it were us , we would cut and add the box needed for the glow steps and not do the new uprising step. Opening and closing both several times the Torklift steps are easier on my back..as always it's comes to one of those love it or not things !
