    regulator and filter prevent freezing?

Afternoon all. I have a Camco heated hose for our upcoming trip over the holidays. While I live in central Texas and we don't get the real cold temperatures, I was curious what people do to prevent the pressure regulator and filter from freezing? My typical sequence is tap -> regulator -> filter -> hose -> trailer.

We are forecasted to dip under freezing.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you.

If not you may need to get creative with short pieces of hose between the reg, filter and trailer connector.

If you post your model someone with the same model may speak up with their solution and possibly a photo. My water connection is in the basement so I have plenty of room for the above solution.

Which RV do you have? On our previous Reflection, I could get an adjustable regulator and the blue Camco filter inside the utility bay - I made some short water hoses (1 and 2 ft.) and used some brass 90 deg. elbows to set things up.

So I spent some time today playing around with options in the basement/utility bay and got it to where I can get the regulator and filter in there. Took a couple tries to get the right sequence, but I have a 90 degree elbow from the inlet on the trailer, the filter attached to the elbow, then the regulator, then one of the short hose pieces that come with the filter, then the heated hose. So I think I should be good.

    Thank you for the suggestion.

Here is our system. The pressure regulator is the first thing that I attach, and it goes onto the end of the hose that you can see hanging down. The hose from the outside comes in through the bottom of the tray (through the hole that is designed for that), and it attaches to the regulator.

Everything would stay warm in cold weather. I got the short hoses through Amazon.

Thank you - that is a nice setup.

I guess part of my initial reluctance to put everything inside the basement was more connections = more opportunities for leakage.

I'll try out my system next week while we are camping.

    Thank you again.

I didn’t mention that we use several water detectors. One under each sink, one near the water heater and two others in the basement area. One is directly under the water filters and fittings, “just in case”.

I got them on Amazon and they are amazingly sensitive. If you touch a barely wet finger to the sensors, they go off. That’s how I test the batteries, every three months.
