    TT Lithium Battery Mounting

I just picked up a 2021 Momentum 31G last month. We have the factory solar/inverter and generator. I installed a Progressive Dynamics converter to replace the factory WFCO. I am looking to mount two BattleBorn batteries in the stock battery location. I need to be able to lock them up as well because we park in our driveway and have had lead acid batteries stolen in the past. Our previous trailer I had a battery shackle to lock up our two lead acid group 24 batteries. The BB’s are group 27 and battery shackle doesn’t make a lock that size. I picked up two NOCO boxes and went to put them in but they won’t fit with the lids on both. So for now I just have one mounted. I am looking at maybe using the RV Lock box. Anyone using that with group 27 batteries or a similar solution? Thanks in advance!

I would consider bolting a steel, lockable battery box to the frame. The BBs don't have to be vented.

I am looking at this, but wondering if anyone has done it yet.

I can't answer your size question but I am using one of their boxes for my single Lion Energy Lithium battery. I have the 14" Diamond Plate Aluminum Battery Box and it is mounted on the tongue of my 2800. I have had no issues with it at all.

I did mount it using bolts and nylon lock nuts but I installed them upside down so the lock nuts are inside the box so you can not remove the bolts without access in the box.

Thanks! I’m also looking at the Torklift. If I go that route I could add another battery or two in the future.

Saw a post on Facebook today on these. I’m considering one when the times comes. They also make a propane tank lock kit which I’ll get along with what ever box I end up with.

Are the Lion Energy Lithium battery less expensive than BattleBorn batteries?
Also what changes (Inverter, Monitor etc) did you have to do to the rig to change from a Acid Battery to a Lithium Battery?
I'm purchasing a new 2500RL and I can't believe all they things that need to be done when going from a acid battery to lithium battery...OMG!

I think so, I paid around $820 a piece with a discount code for the BB. I had to change the stock converter, ordered it from BB. The BB are group 27 instead of 24, so they don’t fit in the stock location with regular battery boxes, so I am going to order the larger box. The stock battery monitor doesn’t work great, shows full charge then when it hits 2/3rd we know to turn on the generator to charge them or else it hits 1/3rd pretty quick and then too low to run the inverter. So I am planning on getting a new battery monitor with Bluetooth to see the charge percentage. So, yes it’s not just plug and play. But it’s one of our favorite upgrades, it’s great for boondocking.

With 2 batteries how long can you stay out before using a generator to charge them back up?
