I did have a tire in it's fifth year come apart on me. I didn't have tpms at the time so I have no idea if it just 'came apart' or if it went flat 10 miles earlier before it came apart.

I have a friend who has 15 seasons on the same 'D' marathons. I told him they needed to be replaced when I found out they were 13 years old. He said they still look good. They are still holding his trailer off the ground. That's being lucky. Far as I know he will be pushing his luck next year......

Yeah, but to be fair, a Marathon tire that is that old was made in the USA. They weigh 8 lbs more each than the current Marathons that are made in China. We weighed the same size tires when they switched country of origin.

My Westlake tires were mfg in 2017. Camper is used often, my have had 5,000 miles on tires. Guy at campground has 2021 Reflection 150 fifth wheel got nail in Endurance and tire monitor showed low pressure but tire did not blow before he was able to change tire, Goodyear repaired it for free. Made in USA is good, made in China is bad!!!!

We now have 10,000 miles on the tires and are very pleased.

I wasn't aware that the Endurance was available in LRG.... When did that start?

I just purchased G rated Sailuns; they are stamped, "Made in Vietnam". Very heavy tire.

So did you god from a load range G (stock West Lake) to a load range E (Good Year Endurance) tire on a 16,800# GVWR trailer?

    Good Luck

    Chris

PS The West lake load range G tries have a good reputation. The E rated West lake are problematic.

I have not looked but I suspect the spare on my 2021 reflection is a westlake. You made a differentiation on good/bad westlakes. Is it only the 'G' that is ok to keep? I'm thinking of replacing my spare in the spring.
I'll go to the EXTREME. I had GY Marathons on my Vintage Airstream for 20 years and over 12,000 miles. One finally let loose last year on a trip home from Michigan. Probably hit one too many pothole.

I obviously don't recommend running tires for that long, but goes to show that there is no exact time frame on how long a ST tire will/can last.
