Ram 2500 VS 3500
Does anyone know the physical differences between the 2500 and 3500 that give the 3500 more payload (besides the sticker on the door). I know coil springs vs leaf springs but what else? Thanks

That’s about it. It’s a pretty big difference when it comes to load handling and carrying capacity.

Thanks. I'm well within the payload limit, verified at CAT scale, but I do have a lot of sag. The backend is very soft on the 2500. It rides nice but the LED headlights are very bright and with the sag I get flashed a lot. Going to add some Air Lift 5000 air bags.

I have a GMC Denali Duramax 3500, and it squats about 2 inches when towing.
I've been thinking about air bags. Please let us know how it works out.
Following with interest.

Ram 2500 VS 3500
I did a ton of research on this and you are right. Only documented difference that I have been able to locate is the leaf vs coil springs. I sit perfectly level with my 31MB attached. Over my payload but well under my tire and axle limits.
Interesting that you are under payload with sag and I am over payload and perfectly level (41.5 inches to top of wheel well both front and back) with no sag.

When I say sag I don't mean I look like an overloaded boat trying to get up on plane. But without the RZR in the back of the 25G I squat about 2.5 inches at the back wheel arch. That's enough to raise the low beam headlights and aggravate on coming traffic. That's one of my pet peeves so I don't want to be 'that guy'. I'll let you know how they work. Only question I have now is how to set up the weight distributing hitch. I'm thinking: use the air bags to get the rear axle back up and WDH to lower the front axle down halfway?

Keep in mind after installing air bags and taking your truck in for service, on some air bags the axle should not be left hanging when the truck is raised on a lift .damage can occur and cause a air leak .

WD hitch should be adjusted to return the front end back to normal (or near normal) unloaded height, depending on model of WD hitch. So, if your WD hitch is adjusted/installed properly, your front end should be at the same height as it is without the trailer.
Maybe Im missing something here, but I'd adjust WD hitch per spec first.

I agree here.
My ownwrs manual says 50% return as does the installation manual for my Equalizer hitch. With that said, my truck felt downright weird at 50%, the front end bob in my opinionwas in fact dangerous. I have since changed my hitch from a 14k to a 16k wdh and returned close to 85% and my truck feels so much more secure.
