    Odd furnace smell

We have been living in our new 2021 3740BH-R for a little over two months, using the furnace I want to add. We just took a trip and when we landed and kicked on the furnace, there was a strange smell coming from the vents. It’s hard to describe the smell (especially when you have a lovely cold messing with your sense), but it’s almost like a burning/musky/wood smell. I’m nervous about it since we have two very small children.. can anyone tell me if this is normal? It’s not the first time we have used the furnace so I would think the manufacturer gunk is burned off already.

Its normal, it's that new furnace smell, you'll also have it if the furnace hasn't been run for awhile.

If you've been using the furnace for two months and this just started, I would say it's not the "new furnace smell" - especially if everything was OK when you left location 1 and you had the smell when you arrived at location 2. Have you checked the air intake outside to make sure that no small critters (wasps, field mice, etc.) decided to take refuge there? If it smells too much like a burning smell (enlist your spouses' sense of smell), you might want to pull the basement wall and take a look at the backside of the furnace to be safe.
