This is how it is constructed

I went through accelerated learning about how my 5th wheel was put together when I added a DC-DC charger for my batteries that required heavy gauge wires to be fished from the King pin to the front cargo compartment. I like to have a good idea about the areas that I'm working blind in so I spent a lot of computer you-tube time researching how things are built. It is amazing how much crap is out there but embedded in the chaff are nuggets of gold. I found several good tour videos of the Grand Design manufacturing facility that allowed me to screen capture shots of various stages of coach construction. I'm a one picture/1,000 words kind of guy and thought this might be helpful to others. Everything should be in this attached PDF. I would encourage everyone to use this thread to post links for reference material that you have found useful.

One of the videos is specifically in the Monument plant. I found the comparisons between the product lines. Things I never new when I bought our Reflection. I've always been interested in a tour if the timing is right, phase of the moon and a few more excuses. When Covid is done, I'll make a special trip.

We did the factory tour last summer. It was so interesting I’d go out of my way to do it again.

Did they let you take pictures? This is a good thread to add any details. Knowing what is behind the wall or under the floor is so important when you start poking hole. I'm impressed with the size of the operation.

Unfortunately no. I really wanted to though for all the reasons you mention

The taking of pictures has been and apparently is again, like a light switch event......on today and off tomorrow. Pictures were allowed in the early years of GDRV then they were not. When we took our tour in June, 2018 - picture taking was back in vogue - "take all the pictures you wish but we just ask that you not splash them all over social media."

I suspect what happened (again) is the violation of the last part of that request by a few. Isn't that often the way things shake out.......there's always that one kid in class that throws a spit wad and recks it for the rest of the class !
