Get an inexpensive device like the Kil-o-watt to measure your actual power draws as an aid in deciding what you need. Some say “go big” but that can get needlessly expensive.

I have been told that if I just change out my Inverter/Controller that comes with the 2500RL rig to a 1000 watt Inverter/Controller with 2 Group 27 f/c deep cell acid batteries (like the Interstate Deep Cell) that this would give me 4 to 6 hours of viewing time (depending on the TV). What are your thoughts on this, I really don't want to go Solar just for this.

What is the easiest way to check your batteries with some type of hand meter, with out installing a monitor for Lithium batteries?
Also will the Compass Connect battery monitor that comes with the 2500RL be able to let you know how charged your batteries are with 2 acid batteries connected in parallel?

If I get 2 Lithium Batters like you recommend:

    1. Do I have to change out any wiring (please say no) ?
    2. What Controller/Inverters do I replace the factory installed with?
    3. Is there any simple way to check the batteries (maybe something that is connected directly to them) without replacing the new Compass Connect?
    4. What if anything would I have to the TV connection that comes with the rig?

By the way SolarPoweredRV you have been GREAT with all the answers you have given this "Ultra Newbie".

If you want something simple and cheap to monitor your batteries until you get your feet wet, just search Amazon for "12v battery monitor with shunt".
I mounted one on my trolling motor box. It shows the voltage, amp hours drawn from the battery, and current draw.

I second the suggestion of just buying a 12 volt TV. Way less Newbie headaches.
