You want to install the switch as close to the battery as practical. You can install it on either the hot or ground cable. Most install it on the positive cable.

You will install it on the cable coming out of the battery and before any connections are made.

Thank you David. My confusion was with batteries in parallel. So I will only need to connect to one?

Yes just 1, I've got mine on the ground, black negative going to the rig. So you will need a short cable to do this. Disconnect from the battery the back cable that goes from the rig to the battery and connect it to the switch. Then with the new short cable, connect 1 end to the switch and the other to the battery where you disconnected the other. All you want to do is break the circuit.

Yes, just make sure you place the switch on the cable between the battery bank and the coach.

Shop around as Amazon is over priced on these. I got mine from https://www.continuousresources.com/...e+sea+switches There are other sources too. Lots of RV solar supply places carry them

Other Blue Sea stuff they carry. https://www.continuousresources.com/...ue-sea-systems

If you ever plan and inverter/charger project, I would recommend one that will handle at least 400A. That way you can reuse it.
