You know the funny thing is about all this?
When it all said and done, I have to send the sales rep (who is selling me this rig) a COMPLETE list of what I need to have done.
It not like going to your Ford dealer and saying you want the FM radio installed and they handle the rest.

Here you have to say what you want and ALL the back-up information that goes with it.
You would think I could just say sway out the Acid Battery for Lithium Battery and they would come back to me with all that needs to be done.
Its almost like if I miss a step from from A to Z...I'm screwed.
On on top of that installation will be a combination of Grand Design factory installation with the Dealership.
Can you imagine (no pun) the finger pointing if something goes wrong?
Think I'm kidding...one rep at another store said swapping out the battery for a Lithium was "no big deal".
    OMG!!

If you are handy, and are decent at algebra, you could do it yourself.

Not sure how handy you are, but the swap is fairly easy. You might want to consider a DIY approach and then you'll know exactly how its wired and can troubleshoot it yourself if you need to.

Also how about when I'm driving, will my F-150 be able to fully charge the Lithium Battery like it would for a normal Acid battery?
I know this is alot to question but I'm really stuck on this one.
I have two Battle Born batteries (100ah each) and the Progressive Industries Lithium Converter PD9160ALV. We were moving 3 hrs. from one RV park to another. I wondered what would happen if I left the electric/propane refrigerator on electric for the drive. This would save me propane usage. The electricity from the RV park for the converter to recharge the lithium batteries is free.

My Victron battery monitor reads 14.4V when I'm plugged into shore power. After unplugging, in about 10 minutes, it will read about 13.6V. After about 30 minutes on the road with the refrigerator running off the batteries and the truck charging the batteries the monitor read 13.0V. 3 hours later after we arrived at the new RV park the monitor read 12.6V but still had 99% state of charge. So, the truck did not maintain the battery voltage at the rate the refrigerator was using it. I DID, however, save 3 hours of refrigerator propane use. After plugging in to shore power, the converter started using about 600W (49 amps) of power to recharge the batteries, gradually decreased the current used, and within an hour they had reached 14.4V.

So, I'll continue to do this going forward to save propane costs AND to pay down my BB battery price! I should break even in about 600 hours of moving.

Its 30 amps. Does this make it easier to install? And NO I'm not handy to say the least.
If it going to be done, its best someone qualified does it.

Ah, got it! I would recommend finding a different shop, armed with the knowledge FT4NOW and I have given you. That way, you can at least get an idea if they are BSing you.

I know it sounds crazy since with the old Acid Battery we couldn't, but sounds like we can with the new Lithium AC power it will supply.
Would ALL the AC outlets in the rig have access to the Lithium power?
Your RV has AC from the outlets and a generator or power post.
Your RV also has 12v lights, pump, furnace etc.

To have AC from you batteries, you will need to install an inverter.

The factory converter charges your battery when plugged into the power post or generator.

When you take delivery of your RV, bring the lithium battery and have the dealership install it. If you want; also bring a new converter too ( if you don't want to install it ). HERE is a cross-reference list for Progressive Dynamics.

Search on the forum for deals on lithium batteries. Get 2 or more if you are planning on using an inverter to make AC. KEN

This converter is for 13.6VDC. I think you need to link him to the PD9160ALV.

And just to confuse him a little bit more...Does he really need the 60 amp converter if he has a 30 amp trailer?
