Yeah, the heated seat is nice ---- while it lasts.

I bought a power strip with a wireless remote control on/off switch. Just plug the chairs into the power strip. (This works better anyway, because when plugged directly into the wall outlet, those huge plugs kept working their way out of the wall.) Normally keep the power strip off. When we want to use the massage or heater, just use the remote to switch on the power strip. Works like a charm. Switch off the power strip when finished. This also prevents our cats (who like to walk all over the chairs) from turning things on if we forget to push the lock buttons.

Great ideas here. I trip and reset the gfci plug on the island when I get up just to make sure nothing is left on, but the remote idea is a lot better way to go.

So here is my solution, pretty straight forward and, at least in the recliners I have in the 2020 303rls, the fit is perfect and still provides access to the buttons if needed. However, with this I did lose the ability to use the side cup holders, I don't mind since our coffee/tea cups didn't fit anyway.

Found a couple of nice Teak wood style trays at Homegoods for about $12 dollars, that was the most expensive part of the DIY. I like these trays over some of the others we found due to the lip around the edge, a bit more secure. The size allows for an oversized coffee cup and cell phone with ease (6"x9"). Anyway, real simple fix and so far they are holding up well. Not the best photos, but you get the idea!
I have these recliners and there is a lock button which locks the other buttons. Seems to take of the problem most of the time for us. But I do like the remote control power strip idea. Didn't know there was such a thing.

Hi! This looks like a great idea! Can you tell me what the plastic “storm drains” are? And where did you purchase them? Thanks!

Thank you. Picked them up from Home Depot. Just a few dollars for each part. I knew I would never remember the exact part so if you check the first post I purposely took photos of the bar codes for each. I just checked and if you select the photo it is readable and should lead you to the correct parts. Again, found these in Home Depot, Lowe did not have the storm drain "cup" looking part.

I placed some set screws to keep everything together and used some rubber tape (it only sticks to itself) to help keep everything set in place (while still allowing the tables to turn as needed from side to side. If you notice in the first pic the "cup" is slightly offset, that's how I leveled the table since the recliner arm leans slightly inward. Here are some additional pics:
Thanks for the install details. I’m sure many of us will try to make your idea work.

I ended up removing the rubber tape and went with another material wrapped around the "cup." The rubber tape was too strong and was squeezing the plastic "cup" to the point it was just a little loose.
