Kitchen slide wont go in

Going on a trip to Ala. on Sun. Morning. Went out and checked RV. and went to put kitchen slide in, nothing. Checked breakers and fuses and all good.Called dealer and he gave me a number to a mobile rv service guy. He will be out in the am. Problem is i bought it 3/10/14....8 days out of warranty Do ya think Grand Design will help me on this?. I have some health problems mainly a broke back so it is hard to try to fix myself . Call JD at GD Customer Service at (574) 825-9679 and discuss. I'd imagine that you'll be covered though you may have to pay up front and then get reimbursed.

Don, when you discovered the problem with the kitchen slide drive, did you try the other slides too or interior lights, etc...anything else that operates on 12V DC?

This is just thinking ahead. If you go to the campground and it decides not to work again (and the manual crank doesn't work also) simply have someone hold the "in" button while four or five large guys continually push inching the slide in little by little. It was brutal to watch when it happened to me but it worked the first time on the dining room slide (the second time with three guys on the kitchen slide not so much). If they are successful shower them with beer and tell them you will name your next child after them.

Again last resort, but it helps to know every option.

Yes i tried the other slides and they worked. I also switched the breaker or fuse or whatever it is and the slide did not work and the working slide worked. Call the mobile rv guy and he said he could not fix something that's not broke. Don

Was it making any sound at all when it wasn't working? If not, I'd suspect that the switch was just intermittent or you have a loose connection somewhere. If it happens again, you might be able to access the switch from the back and jumper the terminals. I had the same thing happen on my landing gear. Finally, the switch failed completely and it was easy to diagnose after that.

Get somebody to operate the switch while u jam a crowbar in the mechanism and TAADA !!! ... Broke !!! Now the service guy has something to fix !
