    Newbie question?

    Taking delivery on a new 2021 2670MK on 1/30/21. Dealer is offering a DuraTain protective coating for the RV. I'm leaning against the extra cost. Supposed to negate the need for wax for up to 5 years. Any thoughts or experience with this product would be appreciated. Thanks...

    I picked my 2021 Imagine 2800BH this past December and the sales person offered that too but I declined it. My trade in was a 2015 Jayco which I owned for six years and after every trip I would wash it with soap and water using a soft brush with a long handle and everything came off. On several trips the front of the trailer was blasted with bugs & butterflies and the brush worked fine. Congrats on your 2670MK and good luck.

    Keep in mind that a couple of key words would be “up to”...That’s marketing jabber for “Well we said that it could be ‘up to’, and it made it for a year. Some get 5 years, sorry you didn’t.”

    I’d pass on it (and did). Waxing just isn’t that hard to do, and you know the quality of the workmanship when you do it yourself.
