    2021 310GK Outlet Amperage Audit

Hooking up to 30 amp service can be so annoying. Turn the fireplace off so I can use the microwave. Turn the water heater off so I can use the heat pump. So, I decided to do an audit of my circuit breakers , amperage use, and what my inverter powers.

Most interesting find was that a Romex wire (12/2 w/ground) comes out of a 20 amp breaker label Sub Panel and goes all the way forward to my 20 amp Transfer Switch (where my batteries and inverter are). Another Romex wire then goes along the same path back to the Sub Panel and powers 3 breakers. If there is shore power the Transfer Switch just passes the voltage through. If no shore power then the Inverter kicks in and supplies the voltage to the Sub Panel. The Sub Panel breakers are for all the GFCI outlets, non-dedicated outlets, refrigerator, vacuum, TV, and the oven sparky thingy.

Is that a factory inverter installation? Do you have a residential fridge?

Your system seems more sensible and more useful than what GD has done with (smaller) inverters in the past.

Thanks for posting this. If someone asks Grand Design for information about their 310GK electrical system they'll get an "Electrical Plan" emailed to them that bears little resemblance to how their trailer is actually wired. It's great to have real-world resources like the ones you've posted above, thanks.

I just have the standard electric/propane refrigerator. From what I've read, I think most manufacturers include a 1000w inverter if you buy the residential refrigerator. I bought the solar package and the Magnum Dimensions CSW2012 2000w inverter was included.

I also only show one outlet on the END of the island, rather than the two that normally face the stove. We added a dishwasher and modified the island a bit.
