    Camper needs a small lift.

    Hello folks. I had my axles and springs replaced by dexter in the fall and it lifted the camper slightly but overall I’m still a little nose high. My equalizer is in its lowest setting and I’ve got about 25-30 psi in my airbags keeping my rear suspension in its happy place. So I feel I need to lift the trailer slightly to level it out.

    Option 1
    I’ve got four half worn China tires on there and I see there’s a $50 rebate on GY Endurance going on. I’m pretty sure I could up size to 225/75/15 from 205/75/15 without rubbing. What do you guys think, are my factory rims wide enough?

    Option 2
    I would like to do a morryde/CRE in the future, but I read that doesn’t add much, can we add longer, thicker shackles and wet bolts on the ends of the springs for lift?

    Option 3
    Lift blocks, I’m not a fan

    Option 4
    Is there an add a leaf out there for these springs, I though I saw a sumo spring as well, but seems rare.



    About this pic, Medicine Bow, WY, 12,000ft with full water tank and packing heavy for 10 day trip. Trailer tires are off the shoulder making it look lower than it was. Springs were replaced after this.

    It’s an Equalizer 4 point, set in lowest holes and using 7 out of 8 washers.

    I would definitely prefer lifting the trailer though rather than buying an drop hitch. The ground clearance worries me. I did some searching and I’ve read several folks are happier with the larger 225/75/15 tires on Imagines combined with a CRE3000 and maybe lift blocks.

    I guess I’m open to other options though. I’m not sure how my large signature pic is on other folks screens but the nose of the trailer was a touch high before I installed my airbags. They raised the rear of the TV one inch so I figure the trailer is now 1-1.5” nose high. It was my rear trailer axle that sagged, I wonder if being nose high caused that or I was just one of several that had that issue on the 2500-2800 series.

    You can get a different shank that allows you to go lower. Equal-i-zer has a bunch of options.

    The correct way to lift your trailer is to have a suspension shop fabricate (weld) a subframe. That's what MorRyde does before they install their independent system. Less expensive alternatives to MorRyde are systems from Timbrens, Dexter TorFlex, and others. There are also airbag suspension systems. MorRyde will be coming out with its own, although I suspect it's going to be very pricey.

    Not really, I’m about 1.5” from the bump stops and it rides nice there. Any lower and its harsh on concrete highways and frost heaves. I was looking at Midwest Campers setup, 225/75/15, CRE3000 and 1” blocks.

    I’m wondering what the others towing Imagine’s with 2500 series are doing. I’m not overly high, I know the newer Silverado 2500’s sit much taller than our TV.
