    Hub cap issue,

    Hi all,
We just bought this 2020 22MLE and as we were getting acquainted and loading newly bought accessories I noticed a problem on the left side ( driver side) with my wheels. It appears both hub caps are missing and whatever the thing is in the pic is loose and flopping around. Is this a major issue? What should I do about it? Click image for larger version.

It looks like your grease cap has come loose. Yes this is major since they prevent dirt from getting into the bearings. The wheel needs to be removed and an inspection performed to make sure dirt has not entered the bearing and the cap put back on. The grease caps should look similar to the image below. .

Thank you. I will inspect my bearings and reinstall the dust caps. Will try to get new covers for them too. Again thank you.

If it were mine I would repack the bearings to make sure there is no dirt in them. Dirt will destroy the bearings. Since you have two caps off I suspect the last person to put them on did not do it correctly. If the caps are not completly seated when they are put on they can come off.

We bought from a dealer who is a little over an hour drive. Yes I thought about taking it there but it would cost more to drive it than it would to just buy it and fix it myself. Thank you for the info which will enable me to correct this. Much appreciated,,
